1. What does the doctor mean when she tells Riva, “We are special, Riva. We are better. We can still feel.” 2. Why does Riva describe Doctor Anna as a goddess of the sick? 3. In this chapter we learn Doctor Anna was married to a young doctor who is not Jewish. He was sent to heal Nazi soldiers wounded in battle. If she was once married to this man and still loves him why does she say, “I still love him, but if I survive I will never go back to him. The barbed wire will always be between us.”
2. Finish Anne Frank packet:
- Students should have all 20 vocabulary completed on page 1 and 2; including either a picture, synonym, or antonym.
-On pages 3 and 4, four themes with evidence should be completed.
-On page 5-8 students need a summary for each of the 10 scenes from the story.
-Pages 9 and 10 should contain a completed character chart with physical descriptions, descriptive adjectives, and evidence.
-On page 11 the students needed to use Act I to describe how Anne was at the beginning of the play. On page 12 the students need to use Act II to tell how Anne turned out to be at the end of the story.
-Pages 13-14 should complete their Literary terms with evidence from the text.
-On 15-16 students should list and describe 3 char. vs. char, 1 char. vs. society, and 2 char. vs. self
-17-18 All compare and contrasts must be completed
